Pie

The difference between propaganda and a legitimate argument for an issue is that propaganda's aim isn't to genuinely persuade a group to see their point of view but rather to fiercely shove manipulated and sometimes altogether false information into a group of peoples' faces in order to scare or command them into believing their side. This act is intentional. Propaganda aims to take advantage, not to aid, expand or explore but simply to take control. This is why propaganda in our society is so dangerous. It's a large scale manipulation technique that easily slips society under it's spell by means of bold, confidnet statements and visuals. Advertising is propaganda. A company can use the words "America's Favorite Pie" simply by copyrighting it. No poll or research group is needed to use these words whose meaning is now reduced down to their letter value since the definition of the statement has no basis at all. This is creating a society essentially based on nothing. The statement on the pie box means just as the green paper in the bank, paper which used to represent gold bars and now stands for an idea no one has a common understanding of. Propaganda is also in all of our media. For a long time I didn't pay attention to the news because I knew that someone owned whatever newspaper or tv show I watched and that person had their own beliefs that they desired to cultivate and share in their publication. I thought, how can I really know what's going on if all of the information I get is colored by someone else's opinions, someone I don't even know let alone trust.
