When thinking about modern propaganda today the first people I think of are Shepard Fairey and Banksy. These are too political artist who use different forms of art in order to get their political statements across. Shepard Fairey actually usually only one specific form which is known to many as wheat pasting, and stickers whether its illegal or legal. He has had many influential pieces over the years. His art became extremely popular during the Obama campaign and the illegal immigration reform issue due to the fact that much of it was posted by him all across the country. Banksy on the other hand uses many forms. From graffiti, to stencilism, wheat paste, illegal installations and stickers. Banksy has become one of the biggest, most anonymous artist within the illegal art world. The work above of images of paradise on walls became very controversial because these were actually done onto the Berlin Wall. I think that this modern propaganda is very interesting because of its impact it has had on this world. When you constantly see these images they somehow become powerful because of the sheer amount of times you see them on a daily basis. Also, these are dealing with actual subjects of substance so when you place something that you have seen so many times and relate it to a strong political topic that automatically gives it something extra, can't find the right words for it right but it just does. :)
